Chuck King – America’s Premier Variety Entertainer

When you look around the room, all you see are smiling faces. Alternately, in place of smiles, you will see mouths agape with amazement at the spectacle unfolding on stage. That spectacle is Chuck King, “America’s Premier Corporate and Variety Entertainer.”
King has earned this title in part because of his ability to be hilarious and clean at the same time – a feat lesser entertainers have attempted and failed. How does he do it? Easy: talent, and an understanding of what today’s talent buyers, event planners and, ultimately, audiences are looking for. Where other entertainers use fluff and shocking language to elicit responses (usually lukewarm, at best) from audiences, King rises well above the rest with his expert blend of hypnosis, comedy, magic and slight of hand – a blend he has perfected throughout his career; red-hot reactions from his dazzled audiences are the result.
An incredibly versatile entertainer, King is always a favorite no matter where he performs, be it colleges, corporate venues, casinos or cruise ships – especially since seemingly everyone wants their moment in the spotlight. Says King, “I pull people up from the audience, and literally make them the stars of the show!” And, hypnosis shows offer a unique bonding experience not only for the individuals on stage but also those in the audience.
King started his performing career early. “I did my first show when I was 12 years old as a magician. From there, in college, I ended up doing weekly performances of magic, table-side, at a restaurant.” Well on his way to success as strictly a magician, the transition into the world of hypnosis was natural. King continues, “Right around that time, while I was still in college, I met a fellow magician and we decided to open a magic shop. Within the shop, we carried all kinds of things having to do with magic, but also book on practically every ‘mystical’ subject, including hypnosis; as the owner of the bookstore, I thought I probably should know about what I was selling! I got very interested in hypnosis, and I started including it in my magic show. Not long after that, I was asked to step in for a performer who had some scheduling issues, and who was doing a full-fledged hypnosis show. The audience loved it, and essentially, I haven’t looked back from that point.”
King has been awarded top honors in the prestigious National and International “Sleight of Hand” competitions, the second of which was presented by world-renowned magician David Copperfield, and has been cited as best-of-the-best among his colleagues and by them, which speaks volumes, particularly in an industry where competition is fierce. A standout performer, King was invited to perform at the White House for the President Reagan’s second inaugural ball. He has also opened for such acts as Rascal Flatts, and the legendary Bob Hope.
“The show is a variety show; it’s a combination of comedy, magic and hypnosis,” says King. “It makes memories for the audience, and it’s a wholesome, fun show for everyone; I love the response from the audience, and hearing from them how much fun they had. People will come up and say ‘I never would have believed it, but now I absolutely do!’ Hypnosis is real, and my sole purpose is to entertain and enlighten my audience with the powers of the mind.” King pauses, and then adds “I hope to do this forever.”
King’s audiences clearly share his hope, and will continue to flock to wherever this amazing entertainer appears.
